Lullwater Park Mugging
(FYI: Lullwater Park on the Emory campus, is open to the public, and
is usually a fantastic place to run, walk, take the dog, have a
picnic, etc.)
At the CCTMA meeting this morning they talked about a recent mugging
at Lullwater Park. A woman was jogging through the park on one of
the trails at 10:30 am and was attacked. The attacker was a man
with a mask and a hispanic accent.
Our neighbors must be careful when jogging unaccompanied through
Lullwater Park.

Neighborhood(s) Meeting with Emory President Wagner
An excerpt from an open invitation from President Wagner of Emory:
Dear Emory Neighbor:
I write to invite you to attend a community meeting at
6:00pm on Monday, 14 November, at the Emory Conference Center Hotel
(1615 Clifton Road) in the Silverbell Pavilion. At that gathering,
which Executive Vice President Mike Mandl will host, there will be a
review of the transportation report draft, the result of diligent
teamwork by neighborhood leaders, Emory personnel, and the Clifton
Corridor Transportation Management Association (CCTMA). The final
report will be submitted to DeKalb County as part of their
Comprehensive Transportation Plan process. Copies of the draft will
go to neighborhood associations before 14 November, and the report
will also be posted online http://www.finadmin.emory.edu
Sincerely, James W. Wagner
Traffic Calming for N. Superior
Here is the update, please forward to all that would be interested.
Our preliminary petition for evaluation for traffic calming was
accepted and the street (between Desmond and N. Decatur Road) will
be evaluated by the end of November. You will see two sets of two
black cables that evaluate the speed and frequency of passing cars
(like are out in front of the Ace Hardware on Scott Blvd right
now). Our street is likely to pass, and at that time we will meet
with the County engineers to evaluate solutions to improve the
quality of the street which include but are not limited to speed
bumps, modified speed bumps, road shading, and several types of
islands. Note that sidewalks are not currently part of the traffic
calming program at this time, however, the individual I spoke with
was willing to work with the sidewalk program. Please feel free to
contact me if you have any questions. Thanks
